The Sun Down Motel
by Simone St. James
Thank you to Berkley Publishing for the ARC
I don’t read a lot of spooky/creepy books (because I’m a wimp), but I really enjoyed this one! Great mix of crime, mystery, and supernatural elements.
I really liked the dual POV, and how the timelines of each girl’s perspective matched up so well. And it was interesting to see how Viv and Carly each came to the same conclusions in different ways. I really liked that women were really the ones running the show, in both timelines, and that the men were more in the background. I feel like most crime books focus a lot on what the men are doing, so I liked that a lot.
I haven’t read any of Simone St. James’ other books, but after reading this one, I’m curious to read her other stories.
