Blood Noir by Laurell K. Hamilton
4.0

I always forget what this book is about because the name doesn't give me any clues. The ardeur and Marmee Noir make a big and random appearance fucking with everything. So this book doesn't come to the conclusion you expect. Or at least the conclusion seems much less important to focus on or remember in my case. What happened to Jason was a complete surprise all over again because I forgot about it. I also think this was the first book that ever bothered me in a triggering way in this series. And since I know what the next book will mostly be, same for that. Anyway, before that the character development of Jason and his relationships was very fun to watch. And though the town roots and his that affects the trip seem ridiculously unbelievable, their are too many places like this in the US for me to comfortably blow it off as unrealistic.
