Ancestor by Scott Sigler
4.0

I'm not one for the horror/thirller genre, be they books or movies, but I became aware of Sigler through his GFL series and fell in love with him. That being said, the humor that attracted me to the GFL and I expected a tad of in Ancestor wasn't there. Or at least, I don't think it was accessible for everyone. I had my own private chuckles at the Michiganer insider comments (though I have never heard of Ted Nuget) but don't think it would be as humorous to citizens of other states.

Still, I loved the science concepts in this novel. Very well thought out and researched, which made the result of the experiment that much more scary. Though I kept thinking, if the ancestors were so guided by their hungry, why didn't they start attacking each other for food?

I had a great time guessing who was gonna day and who was gonna live and was met with surprises which is awesome.
