This book was definitely a step up from the last in the series, mostly because the main characters were more likable. Cadyn is a decent MMC, and Tryana is alright but for most of the beginning she made zero sense. She kept saying how she trusted Cadyn and trusted him to protect her, but then ignored his advice and plan in the same breath. Why would you do that? There are also relationships with old characters from the original series, especially Logan, but those relationships are never actually developed in any meaningful way and it's frustrating. Logan Ramsay is basically a cameo throughout these books now. I think the main reason I rated this book lower than I normally would is that the writing was just bad. This is a romance but the writing sometimes feels like I'm reading a middle grade level book. Even the dialogue can be really cringe.
Moderate: Domestic abuse, Murder
