In a New York Minute by Kate Spencer
4.0

"Sometimes this city is magic."

Welcome to the book with the most awkward (and best) meet-cute ever. Franny Doyle just got laid off of her interior design job at Spayce, and is rushing through the subway to get on the Q. She makes it! ...Mostly. Her dress gets caught in the doors and she ends up showing her backside to a little too much of Manhattan. Luckily, Hayes Montgomery III isn't glued to his phone in the subway car and offers her his suit jacket for some coverage on the way home. An onlooker records the whole ordeal and Franny and Hayes become known as #SubwayQTs,

In a New York Minute was a really fun read and love letter to NYC. I absolutely adore how awkward and clumsy Franny is (super relatable), and wish I knew her BFF squad of Cleo and Lola personally. Hayes is also sweet and a litlte awkward, and his cousin and coworkers made great support on his side. Franny and Hayes had a great connection that went deeper than just a romantic spark, and it was great to see the frienship connection develop there, too. The only thing I didn't love was the storyline at the end (won't get into it because of spoilers) because I didn't find that last twist necessary. BUT overall, super cute, light, wonderful read and definitely recommend it.

"So let's all raise a glass to love, as messy and imperfect as it can be."
