Yet, as I turn and begin walking toward the waiting people, the wind blows some of them back to me.

Has to be one of my favorite final lines ever. For years I kept seeing this book everywhere from bookstores to recommendations on social media. So, I finally decided to give it a try. It feels like Baldwin poured out some of himself as a queer man into this. It's deep and heavy but also a bit poetic too. This is a classic for a reason. I just wished that I had read earlier.
