This book is a collection of speeches that Greta made at speaking engagements around the world in 2018 and 2019. As others have noted, it can feel repetitive—but that's understandable, given that she had a crucial message to share with as many people as possible. Even if important decision-makers heard her speak once or twice, it clearly wasn’t enough to drive the point home, as little meaningful action followed her efforts. Instead, many top officials merely congratulated her on being smart, gave her awards, or even mocked her and spread misinformation to discredit her message—despite the fact that she was amplifying the voices of scientists who have been warning about the climate crisis for decades.

While the repetition did make it feel a bit long at times, I recognize that this book wasn’t meant to present new data but rather to emphasize the urgency of the crisis. I especially appreciated the Canadian ending...
