I went in without reading the rest of the series first, and that made the beginning a little chaotic for me. There were so many character names and past connections that I genuinely struggled to keep everyone straight (no pun intended).
That said, this was also my first sapphic why choose romance, and I loved the concept. The emotional dynamics between the characters were interesting, and I appreciated the way the story explored different kinds of intimacy and connection. I was rooting for them even when I didn’t always feel deeply connected myself.
Ultimately, this isn’t my all-time favorite read, but I’m glad I gave it a shot. Fans of found family, poly romance, and steamy slow burns will probably find a lot to enjoy—just maybe start at the beginning of the series if you're someone who gets easily overwhelmed by a big cast.
