Subversive

I saw this pop up on a few blogs over the last couple of weeks. Luckily, I was looking for KU books to read before my subscription ends at the end of February! I decided to add this to the list since the whole trilogy was on there. I am so glad I did!
This book is about feminist witches. Well.. for the most part, it’s about feminists that want equality and try to take down the wizards. Turns out there’s a lot more to things than they know! I loved Beatrix! She doesn’t take crap from anyone and does as she pleases. She committed to putting her life on hold to make a better one for her younger sister. She was left with nothing when her parents died and she works to put Lydia through college.
There’s a lot of politics in this book. There’s a lot more political intrigue than magic for most of it. I think that it’s relevant to today.. Men in power are dictating how women should live their lives… just saying. ANYWAYS, I enjoyed the plot and the romance that is unfolding. Some pretty crazy things come to light at the end and I cannot wait to jump into book two!
