Really enjoyed this one but wished we could’ve seen more of Laura and Carmilla together. Carmen Maria Machados introduction and editing was fantastic, and definitely a part of the reason of why I liked it as much as I did. I loved having the insight prior to the start of the novel. Would definitely recommend this version! The irony of Le Fanu creating this book as a cautionary tale against female sexuality and wlw and yet it’s now a gay classic lol. Id also like to point out that there is racism against black people in this one, a small paragraph in the beginning of the book.
