This was such a beautiful exploration of grief and loneliness, and how to come to terms with life experiences changing you as a person. This book is extremely character focused, and you really feel like you’re inside Marin’s mind. The setting taking place at a college during winter break did such an amazing job of setting the tone and amplifying what Marin is feeling. I really loved Marin and Mabel’s moments together, and I think it’s great to have such a beautiful depiction of friendship and the changes that can happen as you grow older in a YA novel. I didn’t really like the “plot twist” towards the end, and I felt it was really unnecessary and out of left field. Overall, I’d really recommend this book to anyone interested.
