The Cuckoo's Calling
by Robert Galbraith
Read for 2018 Popsugar Challenge: A book with a female author who uses a male pseudonym
I liked it but I didn't love it. I thought Robin was an awesome character, and I really wish she had more to do. I didn't totally vibe with Comoran the way he seemed to ogle every woman in the vicinity rubbed me the wrong way. The investigation was also a series of interviews, and while the narrator did a fabulous job with the voices, I certainly wanted more action. The reveal was intriguing, but a little too speechy for me, which to be fair is typical of the Sherlock inspired mysteries (although Psych the TV show was definitely the best at this method)
I'm definitely interested in continuing the rest of the series, especially since I already have the next two on audiobook; this narrator is so good at the voices. I'm also looking forward to seeing how Comoran and Robin grow as characters.
