The Merciful Crow has one of the most interesting worlds I have read about for a while. It follows Fie who is a Crow, she goes and her crow crew goes into a deal with the Phoenix crown prince, they will get him to his allies and in return he will make the Hawks protect the Crows on the roads.

The Crows in this book are treated so badly that it makes my stomach turn. There is so much brutality in this book, and it is written really really well. I enjoyed the characters a lot, they really grew on me. The middle part of the book is a bit slow, and overall while the plot is something I have seen before many times I enjoyed this book immensely. I’m very excited for the next book, and the first one hasn’t even been released yet :( But really: the world was so good, every piece that we got I swallowed whole. 4/5 stars.
