I had no idea this was a spin-off from an existing series, and I will be going back to read it prior to book 2 being released. This was such an engrossing world and take on the mythos around trolls and elves! It took me a minute to understand how the rules worked and which was what, but I was completely immersed in the drama between Arlet and Vann. This is a super imaginative story, and I'm excited to read what happens next. 💖
