This was a tough, beautiful read. Nearly always melancholy and often downright heartbreaking, if you're looking for a peppy summer read, this might not be it. That being said, I loved it and recommend it highly.

TOPICS/SUBJECTS: Everything I Never Told You deals with tough subjects that resonate across cultural, racial, and socioeconomic lines. Loss & grief, social 'otherness,' growing up, depression, and inter-family conflict are just a few of the heavy subjects you'll touch on in this read.

WRITING STYLE: Beautiful prose. Just lovely to read. So elegant but still gentle on your brain—just the way I like my quick contemporary reads! The perspective shifts often from character to character, flowing effortlessly as the story unfolds.

LIKEABILITY: I found myself identifying with (almost) every single character, which I find to be pretty rare. I was interested in the perspective of each character, no matter where we were in the plot of the book. While this book was a little tough on my soul at times, I'm so glad I read it.
