I was reasonably impressed by this book. Mercy is a mechanic that knows how to hold her own, but doesn't consistently have to prove herself as the strongest one in the group. She is an interesting lead and doesn't have an existential crisis despite being of romantic interest to more than one person, which often happens in urban fantasies like this. I also really like the lore behind all of the supernatural creatures. The vampires, werewolves, and other creatures in the book each feel like they have their own separate culture and no aspects of it made me uncomfortable, so I'm happy. I'm looking forward to continuing the series because I'm all for thrillers like this with a little fantasy thrown in the mix.
