Lakewood is a unique read about medical experimentation on black people that allows the read to feed into conspiracy theories. However, it does come with many receipts/facts, like Tuskegee Experiment. It tackles several issues: black people needing to prove themselves more than whites in the work force, lack of believability with symptoms in medical care, stereotypes, preying on weakness/needs, and not respecting privacy.
