Love Bites
by Duckie Mack
Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.
Jonah met me with bright eyes, light shining through his whole being. He was radiant. If I were a plant I wouldn’t need any more than the sunbeams that Jonah cast to thrive.
This was a cute book about two (brief) food-truck rivals. It is nearly pure sugar on the sweetness scale, and had good demisexual representation. I haven’t read the previous books so I had no connection with the side characters, but it wasn’t a problem. The book gave me a bit of a coming-of-age/YA vibe with the sweet characters and sometimes cliché dialogue, but it fit the book. And it’s not YA.
I’ve been in the mood for a bit more angst lately so it wasn’t the best time for it.
