Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this graphic novel.
For an honest review, I would say that what caught my attention to this book were the illustrations and the colors. It was an okey story but could have been better.
In the case of the plot, I would say that it is quick and cute.
The novel talks about the topics of chronic illness with blindness as a result, but also the growth of a relationship built on mutual help. But because is a short story it feels a little incomplete. I was left wondering how after the ending Marie-Jo would take her classes.
Also, I would have loved to see more about Victor, it was a disappointment not to read more of his development but I understand that he gets there at the end, just that we don’t get to see the results.
It really brings you to think about the importance of accessibility for all disabilities.
I recommend reading it if you are looking for a quick story to pass the time.
Moderate: Chronic illness
Minor: Bullying, Vomit
