Hair-raising, heartbreaking, triumphant. I was already familiar with Kyle Lukoff’s genius due to his picture book, When Aidan Became A Brother, which is a book I revisit monthly. As soon as I knew he’d penned a middle grade novel, I knew I’d need this book.

I waited.

Now that I’ve read it, amidst my own transition
