Family, grief, and long-buried secrets collide in Home Is Where the Bodies Are, a gripping thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. Jeneva Rose masterfully crafts a story about three estranged siblings who return home after their mother’s death, only to uncover shocking truths about their family—especially their father, who mysteriously disappeared seven years ago.

The tension between the siblings feels raw and real, layered with unresolved resentment, painful memories, and the weight of their shared past. But as they begin to sift through their parents’ lives, they realize that their family’s history is far darker than they ever imagined. Every chapter peels back another chilling layer, revealing unsettling secrets that make them question everything they thought they knew.

The book is atmospheric, emotionally charged, and full of suspense. The pacing is spot on, balancing the family drama with a slow-burning mystery that keeps you turning the pages. And while I had a strong suspicion about how things would end—and was ultimately right—it didn’t take away from my enjoyment at all. Sometimes, a story is so well-written and immersive that the journey is just as satisfying as the twists themselves.
