The Matzah Ball
by Jean Meltzer
I really liked a lot of this book. I liked the holiday magic, and how Jewish it was. As a non-Jewish person, I had a lot of fun reading about Jewish culture, and felt the weight of religious expectation to be relatable. The concept was fun, and I liked Jacob a lot. It was Rachel that I had more of an issue with. She was just so in her own way and it got very frustrating. Even Jacob’s assumptions got to be a lot sometimes. But overall it was a sweet and fun holiday romance, and I really enjoyed it.
