I've loved this book and the whole Chronicles of Narnia series since I was a young child, and rereading it now as a 34 year old, it's so easy to see why it is regarded as a classic of children's literature. The setting is magical, the writing a joy to read (or listen to on audiobook!), and the characters loveable, especially my two favourites, Edmund and Lucy. It is a very short book which leaves a considerable amount to the reader's imagination - but as someone who spent her childhood making up stories, I think that just adds to the delight.
