This was my first time reading manga, and I really enjoyed it. The artwork is awesome, and I enjoyed the little witty side comments from the characters. I was hesitant starting this book, but I was quickly captivated by the plot and the characters. It was easy to follow and not hard at all to get the hang of reading from right to left.

Brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric attempt an alchemical ritual as a way to bring their mother back from the dead. The attempt fails, and as a result, Edward loses a limb and Alphonse is left as a soul inhabiting a suit of armor. The brothers begin a journey to try to fix their mistake and put their bodies back together, getting caught up in adventure along the way.

The action scenes are fun and over-the-top, making this an enjoyable read. My one critique is that I would have liked more of an explanation of the world and how alchemy works before diving right into the action.
