I wasn't particularly in love with the way the book ended, but it was a completely engrossing, compelling read and I could not put it down until I had read the very last page. It was a heart breaking and eye opening read- I am of course familiar with the general atrocities of the Holocaust but had never heard of the circumstances surrounding the Vel d'Hiv before. Devastating.
