A Radical Guide for Women with ADHD: Embrace Neurodiversity, Live Boldly, and Break Through Barriers
by Michelle Frank, Sari Solden
It's not a bad book when it comes to the content, I just don't feel like it was directed towards adhd. It seemed to be mostly about radical acceptance in general, hiding behind some very stereotyped norms about gender and adhd.
I appreciated this quote on radical acceptance: "acceptance is not passive, and it is not resignation, it is an ongoing choice to respect yourself and your circumstance in whatever way it presents in this moment. in fact, you don't have to particularly embrace or like your challenges in order to radically accept them."
I did not like at all how they kept mentioning/focussing on: "You're different." (And other similar phrases). It was like "accept xyz, even though you're different" again and again. I think the book could have been more about accepting yourself how you are, without hammering on the fact that adhd "makes you different."
So all in all I wouldn't recommend this book for someone looking to further their acceptance of adhd specifically, but might recommend it to someone trying to work on some ideas to further their acceptance in general and taking up space.
