The miscommunication between the main characters seemed forced but it wasn't a huge detractor to the story. Like a simple adult conversation could have cleared things up. It wasn't dragged on through the book so that was nice.
The characters were fine but it all seemed surface level. I wanted more about the depression other than "I'm sad" and "I'm overweight".
