The Beggar King
by Oliver Pötzsch
This took me a while to get through, but the ending was really perfect and totally worth the time it took. I think my problem is that I don't feel like the story is growing at all. This one felt the same as the first two; Magdalena and Jakob are headstrong and get into trouble and Simon argues with his father and tries to help them out. I love learning about the world in 1662, so as historical fiction it's very well done.
