Crank Palace by James Dashner
4.0

4.5☆ (I don't know whether to give it 4 or 5, both don't feel satisfying)

Oh wow. I was a little hesitant at first, because it has been some time since I read the first 3 tmr books (I think 2018 or 2019) and I wasn't sure if I'd still enjoy this world (even though I read the last 2 books in 2020 and liked them).

But wow.

Idk if this sounds weird, but I feel like after reading this, I have closure? Every time I thought about Newt dying in The Death Cure, I was sad. Because I thought that he never even found out about his sister, but this book proves me wrong. He remembered his family. He died remembering most of his life, after finding a somewhat new family and saving them. This was a satisfying ending, and for the first time I'm not angry at the fact that he's dead (though I still wished he would be alive, in the epilogue when it said that he was alive I had some hope that it would be a big plottwist and that he was saved and never died, but sadly this was not the case)

Even though this gave me closure, I'm still heartbroken, and this has once more proven that Newt is my favorite character in this series. (Well, he and Minho share the number one spot)
