Once Upon a Broken Heart
by Stephanie Garber
“For as long as she can remember, Evangeline Fox has believed in true love and happy endings…until she learns that the love of her life will marry another.
Desperate to stop the wedding and to heal her wounded heart, Evangeline strikes a deal with the charismatic, but wicked, Prince of Hearts. In exchange for his help, he asks for three kisses, to be given at the time and place of his choosing.
But after Evangeline’s first promised kiss, she learns that bargaining with an immortal is a dangerous game — and that the Prince of Hearts wants far more from her than she’d pledged. He has plans for Evangeline, plans that will either end in the greatest happily ever after, or the most exquisite tragedy...”
For one when it comes to Stephanie Garber, I just have to read her books. Her books are beautiful and magical. You really feel like you are there. I loved Caraval and it’s magic, so I just had to read this. However, I do have to disclaim that I never finished Finale. I will finish it and want to in 2022. I have a huge problem that I get excited for a book and then I stop that book because I get excited for another book. Probably why I have 40 currently reading books on Goodreads. Yeah, it’s bad. Anyway, back to the review. I really loved Evangeline and her story. She’s wanting a happy ever after and is dealing with a fate named Jacks. Which, I adored Jacks in the Caraval series. Them interacting was very fun. I just felt like this was a fun read. I really am rooting for Jacks and Evangeline to get together. I hate Marisol from the beginning and don’t trust her. I really enjoyed this, but did find Evangeline a bit annoying in the beginning.
