Verde explores the difference that one action can make in our world, further unraveling the effect of one action as it cascades into another. The artwork and the story fluidly move together to present this big idea to little minds in a truly astounding and accessible way. There is a plot with characters, giving something for children to grasp onto, but the characters are never named. In fact, the text is in the first-person which is direct and empowering to the listeners. And who doesn't like to watch children dismantle a wall, find a friend, and, together, build something far greater?

This now tops my list of call-to-action stories FOR children (and not just the adults reading it).
