Follow Me to Ground
by Sue Rainsford
I support women's rights but most importantly I support women's wrongs. From the first page of this book, I knew I was going to have a lot of fun. It's got that perfect blend of unnerving prose and eerie woodland setting that does it for me every time. I thought the set-up of the story was brilliant with lots of show-not-tell allowing the reader to infer Ada and her father's magical abilities and the roles they play. I made my predictions about halfway through the book and although they did turn out to be correct, there was also enough of a twist that I didn't feel let down. I'm still in two minds about the ending: the book was a very quick read and I loved that, but also it meant there wasn't much closure for the story. Definitely a book I'm glad to have picked up, really right up my street.
