When a Killer Calls: A Haunting Story of Murder, Criminal Profiling, and Justice in a Small Town
by John E. Douglas, Mark Olshaker
Douglas’ book is captivating as the rest of his works. Much like with his book on BTK, it’s particularly interesting to get to read him delving into one case to show how profiling works instead of stretching examples out over multiple types of murders. It lets him get into particular details about the process that get lost otherwise. While there are some parts that feel like filler stories to stretch the page count, overall it’s one of the strongest true crime novels I’ve read in a while. Worth the wait!
