The Broken Girls by Simone St. James
4.5

Holy hell that was fantastic. A combination of ghost story, mystery, and historical. There is genuinely creepy content here, as well as an intriguing mystery that just kept me turning page after page. I only put the book down a few times to let goosebumps subside. After finishing I had to wait a bit while the goosebumps died down just to write this.

The way the story jumps back and forth from past to present is really cool, and helps keep the reader thinking about both sides. Too often, it becomes easy to forget past details because a book will focus too much on the present. This one makes sure to always keep both fresh.

Can't recommend this book enough! One last thing, I'm glad I'm not going to sleep after finishing this, because Mary Hand scares the hell out of me. O_O;
