This was almost my first DNF of 2020, but I finished it. Despite hearing praise for this book several times, I really wasn't a fan. I was so confused for so much of the time, I couldn't keep up with what was happening, and there were about 962 characters and settings to keep straight, so many of them completely irrelevant. I usually love magical realism, but I just could not keep up. 2.5 stars rounded to 3 because I feel bad rating books so low.
