I absolutely implore everyone to read this book. It is brutally depressing at times, but really brings to your attention exactly the ways women still aren't equal today. As someone who can get a little nervous when speaking up against discriminatory behaviour, I have recently felt a lot more empowered to speak up, this week speaking out against sexist assumptions in my workplace and racist and sexist comments received in a bar. I think it's really important for everyone to do so after reading this book.
