This book is beautifully written and exemplifies the true struggle of what it means to live while being African American in a world that was not made for me. I'm in awe of the simplistic, yet powerful way that Coates speaks of "ownership of the black body." This is a must read for all people to understand the push and pull of what it means to be black in this country.
