Shuffle, Repeat
by Jen Klein
I saw this book on a display in my local library with books that had music in them. I love when I pick up a book on a whim and it ends up being really good! I read this book in a day, it was hard to put down and easy to get lost in.
I enjoyed the growth of the characters throughout the story. June learns not to cast harsh judgments before she truly gets to know someone, but she also learns that sometimes people can be fake and you trust them when you shouldn't have anyway. Oliver learns that it's ok to be positive and look on the bright side of things, and that it's ok to want to do your own thing, you don't have to blindly follow what others tell you.
I loved the friendship between June and Oliver and between June and Shaun. Two very different friendships that head in two different directions, but both very real and honest friendships that I can see lasting the test of time.
I also adore when authors put a playlist in their books, especially when the book has so much music involved in the story. I'm a person for whom reading and music goes hand in hand, so I like to take pictures of the playlists to add to my own music collection.
