This was recommended to me via someone on Instagram, and usually I struggle with recs, because I worry I may not like it when someone else adores it. But in resent have worried because I loved it within the first few paragraphs.
I've not read a lot of YA and if I have it's ones that don't include romance (I'm romantically detached, you see.)
This did have a bit but I didn't mind. Maybe my steel heart is loosening, I don't know, but I thought it was cute. Or maybe it's because the main female protagonist was so... real. She was by far my favourite character and in some ways I could relate to her. She's kind, sarcastic, dry, caring, thoughtful and gullible. She knew her flaws and tried to find her strengths, and I think that was what made me feel she was a real person.
I felt that the story was well written. I also kept playing over in my mind what could happen next? What's in store with the other two books? What now?!
I will definitely be buying the other two of this trilogy, but right after I've read the Cursed Child because you know. Cursed Child.
