The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein

Agh... it's a tough one. On the one hand, it's a classic and it does deal with important issues in a smart way (political freedom, societies, etc.). But on the other, the gender politics are really not ideal, even for the 60's.

The book itself is mostly written in the "loonie" language. Which is actually very smart but also distracting. It was fun at times though, and Mannie is a great character. Mike is also refreshing as a "computer".

So yeah, I have a hard time judging this one. Part of me wants to give it three stars, because I didn't "enjoy" it that much, part wants to give it five because of its intelligence and relevance. So I'll settle for four.
