I feel like I haven't really been enjoying reading YA fantasy books as of late, but Violet Made of Thorns was such a pleasant surprise! 

I really liked the friendship turned romance between our morally gray witch and cursed prince. Their relationship contained more depth than I've seen in a YA fantasy in a while, so that was refreshing to see play out. There was quite a bit of humor in here as well which is always fun. I think this might lean towards the upper YA range because there was definite sexual tension and spiciness!! (not smut, just a sprinkle of spice okay?)

Overall I really enjoyed my time with this book & am looking forward to not only the sequel but any future work this author puts out!
