FINLAY DONOVAN IS KILLING IT BY ELLE COSIMANO REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️ (3.5)

in the first book of a hilarious and tense duology by adult debut author elle cosimano introduces us 31 year old finlay donovan who has absolutely nothing in her life together. she’s not making enough writing her novels, her kids are rambunctious and out of control, and her husband dumped her and got engaged to the real estate agent.
oh, and a woman misheard her book plot as her being a legitimate hit woman. so things aren’t great.
there’s a lot of humor in this book. finlay goes about trying to kill a person probably about the same way i would. it’s all so unbelievable because of the fact that the character just could never do these things in reality and book characters normally have this stuff down. it’s unbelievable in it’s believability (if that makes sense), and makes for one crazy book.
along the way, we meet many characters, including vero, finlay’s nanny, who is hilarious and fiery. we meet finlay’s kids and watch them cause chaos. one of my favorite parts was when delia, finlay’s daughter, duct taped her cut hair back to her head. finlay’s ex and his fiancé are complete jerks that i have no love for at all. all the characters are very fleshed out and real.
i’m very excited to read the next book. that ending has me needing it NOW! i have to see more mess from finlay as soon as humanely possible.
elle cosimano also has several ya books out and i definitely recommend nearly gone and nearly found if you want more thriller vibes.
tw: death, murder, sexism, rape, manipulation, blackmail, drugs
