The Hound of the Baskervilles
by Arthur Conan Doyle
Revisiting this reminded me why it's my favorite Sherlock Holmes story, even if I can't call myself a die-hard fan of the famous detective. There's something about the eerie moors and the legend of the ghostly hound that sets this tale apart from the others.
Arthur Conan Doyle does a great job building an atmospheric mystery that blends Gothic elements with classic detective work. The setting of Baskerville Hall and the surrounding moors create a perfect backdrop for suspense, and the supernatural twist adds an exciting layer to the usual Holmes investigation.
While Holmes isn’t my go-to character and his stories don't always grip me, this one keeps me coming back with its intriguing plot and unique setting. Plus, Watson takes a more prominent role here, and I enjoy his perspective on the unfolding mystery.
Overall, if you're diving into the world of Sherlock Holmes, *The Hound of the Baskervilles* is definitely worth a read, especially if you’re in the mood for a mix of mystery and the macabre.
