While I somewhat agree with some others the dislike of marriage is annoying, the book got better as I read.

In the end Fire is more or less willing to become queen if Brigan were to be king...I.e shed be married to him. While Fire starts out very against marriage as she and Brigan get closer she is more willing to get married.

All in all I enjoyed the book.
