Love in the City
by Jen Morris
When wanna be author Alex gets dumped and very drunk on her 30th birthday, she decides to move herself from her home in New Zealand all the way to NYC to give her writing a chance. When she sobers up and realizes what she's out in motion, she decides to go anyways because nobody in her life thinks she actually would. Once in the city, life is not what she expects but she meets an incredibly attractive but grumpy man multiple times and then discovers he is the single dad who lives in the apartment upstairs. As she settles in to her new life and develops a crush on him, she she tries to focus on her more serious writing and channels her sexual frustration into a romance novel that she writes on the side just for fun. I really enjoyed this story, the chemistry, the Kiwi MC, and the internal discussion/defense of romance as a genre that deserves love.
