Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands
by Heather Fawcett
" I don't like to hold his gaze for long; not because I find it intimidating, but because a part of me worries that if I do, I will never wish to look away"
Squealing over Emily and Wendell for the majority of this book. I love how their relationship was set up and has naturally progressed. Their bond is so deep rooted and its so refreshing after reading so many shallow romance novels.
"Em, I must confess- I am in awe of you. I believe I am also a little frightened"
I love how he helps her understand her emotions and she helps him stay humble and connect to his humanity. He flat out tells her to "never be afraid to tell me" if he says something out of pocket and needs putting in check lol. She is his "dear dragon" ㅜㅜ
Also once again weeping over the wholesomeness of Poe. He is and always will be my favourite character. Just the thought of him makes my heart want to explode. ♡
I also loved seeing more of Emily's firey, no bullshit, energy in this book mainly towards Rose and the Queen.
Overall loved this book just as I loved the first one. The plot starts a little slow but picks up very quickly once you get into it.
