snowbenton 's review for:
Just so we're clear, Alex Dumas (father of the novelist by the same name) lived a 5/5 life.
This book did a 2/5 job of describing said life.
This is a very long, very dry book (the audio narrator's pleasant tones did nothing to add to the excitement, alas). It goes into loads of detail about France at the time of Dumas' life, its history, its attitudes towards people of color, Dumas' own father, etc etc etc. I would recommend to someone interested in lots of detailed history about France at the time of the revolution, and fans of the Count of Monte Cristo.
