Generation Gone Volume 1
by Aleš Kot, Andre Lima Araujo
*Knock Knock* is that you Chronicles?
I kid. I actually enjoyed this one a bit. It's ALOT like Chronicles, which is okay with me, I loved Chronicles. So you have three hacker friends who decide to run a big scheme and gets lots of money. Most of them for admirable reasons. However, when they try that, they are struck with a virus of some sorts that gives them powers. One of flying, one of super strength, and one...well I won't spoil that one. However, as they get stronger, things get worse, because...more interesting.
Good: The fights are brutal and fucked up but always entertaining. The storyline gets progressively more screwed up and can see why these characters become worse and worse. The ending leaves it open but also if never continues that's okay. Also the art is unique and pretty different.
Bad: The underlying message about the government and the weak and so on is cool but a bit too hamfisted. I also thought this should be longer. Sometimes Ales Kot writes stuff but it feels incomplete or not showing you the complete story. The change of one of the leads was too quick, to sudden.
Overall I had fun reading this. Brutal, screwed up, pretty much always entertaining. I'd go with a solid 3.5 out of 5 for this one.
