4.5...or 4.75...or 4.5...or4.75/5 ⭐

Weird and wonderful. So I literally fell asleep with my face in this book since I didn't want to out it down. There's a little romance but the main focus is a quest with the overall point being that we have to act on behalf of the greater good...even when it's harder than being selfish because those choices have long last effects on multiple people.

My only negatives we're that I don't think I totally understood the reveal of the main character's lineage or the reason for where she went at the end. I also still don't know what the heck happened to the mom in the original timeline! I think that could have been clarified by a couple paragraphs.

I really REALLY liked the setting and the writing. I liked that the author doesn't let the romance take the lead because it absolutely would have taken away from the quest. I thought the main characters father acted naively but I began to understand that firstly, that was consistent with his personality and secondly, their previously existing relationship would have given him optimism in the situation.
