Three Dark Crowns
by Kendare Blake
Half way through the book I was beginning to lose hope, but then I was pleasantly surprised! The rest of the book was gripping and dynamic. This is another young adult fantasy novel I wanted to check off the list this year and I'm so glad I did! I was really impressed that in a relatively short fantasy book, so many loose ends were tied up by the end. There was a cliffhanger but it was AMAZING! What most captivated me was the overall idea of the story, that this was a matriarchal island. It reminded me exactly of the show Tudors, but imagine that king Henry the Eighth had to win over Anne Boleyn! As of book one, I'm rooting for Katharine, as I found her to be the most relatable character. Did anyone else find it strange that two of the sisters met each other but Katharine had no contact with them? I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
